Bangabandhu Bridge

Bangabandhu Bridge, also called the Jamuna Multi-purpose Bridge (Jomuna Bohumukhi Shetu), is opened in Bangladesh in June 1998. It is the eleventh longest bridge in the world and the second longest in South Asia (after Mahatma Gandhi Setu). This bridge is 4.8 km long. It connects Bhuapur on the Jamuna River's east bank to Sirajganj on its west bank. The bridge, stretching from tangail to sirajganj is located on the Asian Highway will provide continuous international road and links from South-east Asia to North-west Europe.

Jamuna Bridge is 110 km from Dhaka. It is a real beauty at evening and nights when sodium lights lighten the bridge. Some beautiful resorts have already been established near the bridge.

Chalanbil

The chalanbil is very much famous in Bangladesh. It is really vast and great. You can see here the vast open land of rural Bengal, the clear blue sky, the heavenly evenings and the runrising. There is two kinds of famous vehical of that area- Nasiman, Kariman.

When I was going to rajshahi, on the the chalanbil, the natural beauty was on the both side of the Dhaka-Nator main road. I just cant explain, How much beautiful was that! The vast open land was looking like a river as it was rainy season and a lot of boats were moving there.

When I was backing Dhaka from Rajshahi, it was a moon-lit night. I was on the fron sit of our car and watching the heavenly beauty. We turned off the ac and was getting the fresh air. The shadow of the moon was playing on the water. Really I cant explain the beauty and the feelings that I got that time. It was realy greaaaaaaaat!

Rajshahi Dam & Padma

Rajshahi city in western Bangladesh, is situated on the north bank of the Padma river. Rajshahi City Protection Dam was built to save Rajshahi from the intense current of the Padma. Beside its main purpose, the people of Rajshahi use it as an amusement place. Every stranger in Rajshahi is very much eager to visit it. Fresh air, river cruise, and views of the sunrise and sunset have made it a very popular place. On the Dam, there is two popular place T-Dam and I-Dam. Such a naming is because if their shape. I went on the T-Dam at 6.30 am. And I was an awesome feelings.










Rajshahi Shopura Silk Industry

Rajshahi is particularly well known all over the world for the Rajshahi silk, and related products. And is often referred to as the silk city, because the silk produces here are sold at very cheap rates. Here in Sopura, the famous silk industry. Recently a new township has grown up here on the northern side of the railway station. Here lie the district stadium and the Polytechnic institute.

Shrine of Hazrat Shah Mokhdum(Rh.)

It is a "Majar" or "Dorga" (Shrine) is established around the grave of Hazrat Shah Mokhdum Ruposh(Rh.) in Rajshahi city beside the famous River Padma and in the area called Durgah Para.It is said that he was the first Islam preacher in the Rajshahi region.It is said that he came to Rajshahi through the river Padma riding two crocodiles. Even now, some crocodiles are reserved in the Dhighi(Large pond) next to the shrine of Hazrat Shah Mokhdum(Rh).

The visitors can go for one day trip and visit the shrine built next to the grave of the preacher. It is regarded as one of the ancient sites of the Rajshahi region and a popular attraction of the country.

Rajshahi Division

Rajshahi division is in the northern part of Bangladesh has an area of 34513 sq. km. There are 16 districts and 57 municipalities under Rajshahi. It is famous for archeological and historical sites as it is located near many ancient capitals of Bengal, notably Lakhnoiti or Lokhonaboti and Pundra. Rajshahi Varendra Research Museum


This museum is in Rajshahi City. This was the first museum of Bangladesh. This museum has a rich and ancient collection, almost three thousands of objects of Paharpur, Mohasthangar and Mohenjodaro and also of 16th to 19th century A.D. This is devoted to the study of ancient history and culture. Its rich collections contain interesting objects of past Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim heritage. It is located at the heart of Rajshahi town and maintained by Rajshahi University authority from 1964. The year of its formal establishment is 1910 A.D. by Sharat Kumar Roy. Admission is free.

Barakuthi (16th century Dutch establishment) is a major tourist attraction for its cemetery, it has groves, belonging to the nineteenth century.
